A wider world. A closer listen.

What listeners do
Spotify
Listen to released recordings, discover artists and build playlists across a broad catalogue.
LOOM22
Go inside the music, as far as the artist has chosen to open it. Stay close to the specific artists you choose.
What you have when you stop paying
Spotify
Premium downloads depend on an active subscription. Listening access does not transfer copyright.
LOOM22
Lasting access is part of the proposed model. Access terms, including service availability and departure, need to be settled before paid launch.
Discovery
Spotify
Discovery includes personalized recommendations, editorial playlists and choices made by listeners.
LOOM22
Discovery without a race for follower counts. LOOM22 emphasizes sharing and community.
How artists get paid
Spotify
Royalties go to rights holders through streamshare. There is no fixed per-stream rate; industry estimates average $0.003 to $0.005 a stream, and what reaches an artist also depends on their agreements.
LOOM22
The proposed artist share is 70% of every sale at launch, rising to 78% as LOOM22 grows. The proposed support model names the artist, rather than pooling support across a catalogue. A listener on the $8 plan who directs two-thirds of it to one artist would send that artist $3.73 a month at launch: about what 933 Spotify streams pay. Paid commerce is not live.
AI and training
Spotify
A different service with its own content policies and agreements. A business model alone does not establish training rights.
LOOM22
Original music only. Artist audio is never used to train AI that makes music. Any other training use needs the artist’s explicit opt-in. No generation of AI music on the platform.
Artist control
Spotify
Availability depends on rights holders and distribution agreements. Spotify manages the listening service and royalty calculation.
LOOM22
Artists author the rules for every track: what opens, to whom, and when. The platform enforces them.
Bottom line
Reach and closeness serve different needs. An artist can want both. LOOM22 has to earn its place through the experience and the terms—not a promise to outperform streaming income.
