About LOOM22 — How the Platform Works
LOOM22 is the home of Modular Music, a format it coined and built: music that keeps growing after release, where a listener is not a metric but an artist too, within the rules each artist wrote, and every note has an author. It is not a streaming service and not a download store.
The core idea
A track is not a file. It is an authored decision-space: what the artist made, and the rules the artist set for how it can be heard. LOOM22 is being built around this premise. Artists publish music that stays alive. Listeners go inside it. Support is direct and musical. Publishing here does not transfer the rights you hold to LOOM22.
For artists
Artists publish their music as modular tracks, made of parts they choose to open. For each track, the artist decides what opens, to whom, and when. A track is never finished: artists can keep adding to it after release, at their own pace. Artists retain 100% ownership of everything they upload. LOOM22 takes no ownership of the music and receives only the licenses its Terms of Service describe. It never uses artist audio to train AI that makes music, and does not use it for any other AI training or enter licensing agreements without explicit consent. The proposed model combines support directed to chosen artists with an artist share of 70% of every sale at launch, rising to 78% as LOOM22 grows. Paid subscriptions and checkout are not live.
For listeners
Listeners support the specific artists they want to stay close to, directly and by name. The closer a listener is to an artist, the further inside that artist’s music they can go, always as far as the artist has chosen to open it. Not passive consumption: an actual relationship to music they love.
The economics
The proposed model directs support to chosen artists, rather than a catalogue-wide pool. It proposes 70% of every sale for the artist at launch, rising to 78% as the platform rate steps down from 30% toward 22%. These are proposed economics, not current earnings or an income guarantee. Final payment terms must explain fees, taxes, refunds and payout timing before launch. LOOM22 is an invite-only pre-release: paid subscriptions and paid checkout are not live yet.
The artist’s terms
Every track on LOOM22 is heard on the artist’s terms. The artist decides how far in each listener can go. The rules are part of the work. Our job is to enforce those choices and correct failures, not claim the system is infallible.
Genesis22
Genesis22 is where new listeners and artists land when they first try to enter LOOM22. The platform is invite-only by design — Genesis22 is the holding layer that keeps the community intentional until an invite arrives. You don’t find LOOM22. You get found by it.
What LOOM22 does not do
No generation of AI music on the platform. LOOM22 never uses artist uploads to train AI that makes music, and lets no one else do so through LOOM22. Any other training use needs the artist’s explicit opt-in. Artists are not restricted from using tools they choose — authorship and transparency are what matter. Music generation is not the product. Analysis tools and the Ghost companion serve the listening experience. It does not have algorithmic recommendation feeds or trending charts. It does not show follower counts or vanity metrics. It does not enter licensing agreements for artist content without explicit consent. It does not accept covers without rights clearance. Transparency comes from provenance, not from labels or badges. Provenance records help trace uploads; they are not a substitute for rights clearance. Invitations and applications help keep the community intentional.
Platform status
LOOM22 is invite-only by design. The platform is a progressive web application — no app store installation required.
